3.25 Miles

For the first time in well over two years, this happened:

morning run with D

After a bike-ride mishap for D led to me missing the group run last night, he offered up a substitute – run with me, in the morning?

Backtrack: we met as running buddies, just friends. Approximately one day after we started “dating”, he hurt his ankle. What should’ve been a 2-3 month recovery, turned into 6 months in an air-cast, a slow transition back to cycling, and an even slower  transition back to running (2 years).

Today, we woke up for a 6:30 a.m. run together. We ran 3.25 miles.

I have my other running-buddy back!

I know six months is a long time, but it even seemed like so much longer.

Glad you guys got your run in! (And that the mishap was just to the bike.)

So cute! I went running on the mall with my bf yesterday and it was SO fun to have a running buddy. He pushed me to go faster than my usual pace and I pushed him to run farther!

Sounds like a similar ankle injury to mine – I can cycle comfortably, but running still isn’t right!

  5. Aww that’s so awesome!!!! I bet it was a fun run!!! I’m glad you have your buddy back :)

  8. Yay! Must be so nice to be back on the road together! Nothin better than running with your man. :)

  9. I love this! training for the half marathon with Billy in the fall of 2010 was one of my favorite times. I still convince him to come out & run with me every now & then…although we stick to our bike rides more often. ;)

  10. Ah, precious! I hope you went easy on him, haha.
